In the past I’ve tended to stay away from event photography and on-site ordering to some extent, but things are at the point where I have enough gear sitting around to take a profit from them, so I decided to take on Skate By The Lake, one of the McCall Figure Skating Club’s larger yearly events.

I didn’t have quite enough time to finish the software I’ve been working on, so I apologize for these not being up for sale online – I will have online ordering at future events like this, but 7000 photos is just too much for the current service I’ve been using to handle. If you are interested, I would be glad to show you photos in person – just give me a call at (208) 315-2637 and we can set up a time and place either in Boise or McCall. I do have all of the ordering systems set up for future events, in case you’re looking for someone to cover anything your club might be needing a photographer for.

Figure Skating Photo Shoot

So I was over at the skating rink earlier today talking to Jason and this girl walks in and says she’s passing through town and was wondering if there was open ice. So it turns out she’s a figure skater – and a darn good one at that! And being a self-respecting sports photographer, I couldn’t just watch, and one thing led to another, and I found myself in one of the coolest photo shoots I’ve ever done. She’s basically a girl ninja, on figure skates. That’s the best explanation I have.

If you’re interested in a similar photo shoot, it runs $250, including ice time in McCall, or the same excluding ice time in Boise. Everywhere else I am available to, but would have to charge for travel. CD’s are available, also.

I’ve been sick and out of town for the last week, which has meant I’ve missed some really incredible sports action – such as a Division 1, unsanctioned hockey game (meaning, the ice is red afterwards). So I found out there was some figure skating tonight and decided to get out of the house and enjoy my life. Here are a few:
