So I’m finally back from Christmas vacation… Time to get this blog thing working!
So while I was home, my brother and I ended up being pretty bored for a few hours… So we did what any self-respecting photographers would do and pulled out our cameras and started playing with lights. We started out with my sister’s car as the subject – no, I won’t tell you how we did this – but it involved quite a bit of trial-and-error (and using my spiffy new Canon 1Ds I picked up a couple hours before meant I had to figure out how to get it to work too)… Here’s the result – not quite production work but not bad for a first try – running around in the street at midnight waking up the neighbors
After that one was done we decided to go ahead and crash, but the next day David realized he needed a picture of himself for his website, so we went to town on that, in the rain for a bit too… The first few are David and the others are me.
You’ll see if you look at his site (www.unpluggedphotography.net) – we have slightly (ok, very) different styles… I tend to thing geometrically and compositionally, while he tends to pick up expressions… We also see light in the opposite way… He likes photoshop, while I very much don’t… He comes from a portrait background, while I started in photojournalism… So we’re about as different as it gets – which is why we work together whenever possible
